What time does school start and end?
Kindergarten begins at 8:40. From 8:25-8:40 there is a school-wide recess. Students are considered late after 8:40 and must stop at the front office with a parent to receive a late pass from Mrs. Murray.
Kindergarten ends at 3:25
Will my child have recess every day? Students will be going out for recess most days unless it is pouring rain or the temperature is below 10 degrees. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather and anticipate changing weather conditions. In the winter, boots, snow pants, hats and gloves/mittens are required. The Rowe playground is windy and cold.
What are some snack ideas for my kindergartner? Snack time is a part of every kindergarten day. Please send 3 or 4 small, healthy snacks with your child daily. We have a quick snack in the morning and one in the afternoon. Here are several suggestions for healthy snacks:
sliced apples
peeled oranges
bananas
berries
applesauce
carrot sticks
sugar snap peas
pretzels
sandwiches
cheese and or crackers
yogurt
dried fruit
granola bars
water or juice box
hard boiled eggs
If there is a child in the classroom with a nut allergy, the teacher may request your support in keeping snack time peanut-free.
